Heag Integrated Systems Limited was first registered as Automated Access Systems in February 2003 with the sole purpose of distributing Centurion Systems access automation equipment in Malawi. The early focus of the company was on the automation of gates (both residential and industrial) and garage doors.

In August 2006 the company changed its trading name to Heag Integrated Systems to reflect the full spectrum of areas into which the company had diversified. The company now provides a comprehensive range of electronic security solutions including video surveillance (both analogue and IP-based CCTV), access control (biometric and proximity), fire detection, intruder detection and alarms, perimeter protection, electric fencing and many other subcomponent electronic security systems.

Depending on customer requirements, the company can design, supply and install either individual solutions where single systems are involved or integrated solutions where several systems are integrated together, for example, a building management system (BMS). An individual solution could be an access control system only, a video surveillance system only, a fire system only, etc. An integrated system could comprise an access control system integrated with the fire system, video surveillance, emergency evacuation system and many other systems.

The company was first registered as a partnership and then incorporated in August 2009.

Heag Integrated Systems Ltd is owned by indigenous Malawian entrepreneurs and is owner managed. It is headed by Hetherwick Kamwiyo, a seasoned business administrator whose work experience covers various areas especially sales, marketing and logistics. He has over fifteen years of business management experience gained while working for BP Malawi, BP South Africa, BP & Shell Zimbabwe, BP Africa and BP Lubricants Transcontinental. He has a Master of Business Leadership (MBL) (UNISA SBL- 2003) and a BSc. in Mechanical Engineering (Mw - 1992) among other qualifications.

Heag Integrated Systems Ltd has a sizeable staff complement of dedicated technicians based in Blantyre and Lilongwe who are trained by the manufacturers of the different technologies that the company markets.

When working on large projects, the company engages extra manpower on contract and the Technical Director is fully involved on site. Where the project is complex, the company has direct access to technical support from the manufacturers of the various technologies who provide technical expertise from system design, quotation development to project implementation.
